We've had company in town and I've had trouble finding the time and energy for posting.
Today I wanted to get something up about our Christmas.
Christmas eve morning Owen, Roy and Evelyn took James and Matthew to the Wild Animal Park. They had a very nice time. Evelyn enjoyed the beautiful foliage around the park, James and Matthew liked the Lions, Gorillas and Elephants and mommy enjoyed a quiet morning at home preparing all of the food for Christmas morning and evening. Sue dropped by and spent her afternoon helping me cook too.
Christmas Eve evening began with a trip to Community Bible Church in San Diego. Erin's dad is on the worship team there and we've been wanting to see him play for a long time. The music was very upbeat, uplifting and heartfelt. The Pastor was very passionate and gave a great teaching on what it means to be born again from the book of John chapter 3. A non-traditional yet perfect choice for Christmas since that is why Jesus came, so that we could be born again and have eternal life with our Heavenly Father.
I'm embarrassed to admit that after a whole day of cooking I never quite got to dinner, so we ended up picking up Carl's Jr. on the way home from church. That's gotta be a Christmas Eve first.
This year we were hosting a Chrismas breakfast and I decided to serve homemade lemon cranberry muffins, 3 types of quiche and homefried potatoes. Our guests included Roy and Evelyn, Jim and Sue, John and Erin, and Erin's sister Sara. We enjoyed breakfast and then had a wonderful time opening gifts. The boys were completely spoiled with many fun toys. We got them a big wheel and a walker.
After breakfast we enjoyed quiet time around the house playing with our new toys. There was one gift the boys received from Grandma and Grandpa Krehbiel that the whole family has been enjoying. It's called a Plasmacar. You sit on the seat and it moves around by turning the steering wheel back and forth. It's kind of hard to explain or imagine, but it's totally cool.
In the late afternoon we headed over to Jim and Sue's for Christmas Dinner. All of the same people were in attendance, plus Murray and Shari, Erin's dad and his wife. We enjoyed turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, peas and corn, green bean caserole, John's potato and celery root caserole, apple stuffing, Murray's gravy, cranberry and rolls. We finished with apple crisp, pumpkin pie and cranberry pie with ice cream or cool whip.
It was a great, albeit very rainy, Christmas.

Me too! Where's the photo of you on the plasmacar! ? I miss the days when my boys got toys that I could play with too. These video games they get now are too hard for me!:)
To your above two friends: I saw Debbie on the plasmacar and you do need her to post a picture - it is a sight to see!
And Debbie, we did not have "peas and corn", but "peas and corn in a divided dish" - a very important differentiation!!
