The troop leader, myself and 9 girls arrived at the hotel around 2:15pm. The girls were really impressed with the grandiose decor of the beautiful hotel. We spent a few minutes walking around the lobby and taking it all in.
After that we went to the restaurant and the hostess led us up a marble stairway to the area where tea is served. We were seated at a large round table set beautifully for our tea service.
The waiter began by offering us water, bubbly or flat. No tap water at this hotel. Then he explained the selection of teas and took our orders. Maddie tried a Jasmine and I tried an almond cookie flavor.
After our tea was served we each received a plate with 5 types of finger sandwiches. The sandwiches were not your regular tea sandwiches, but super fancy. We had a cucumber and crabcake, pumpernickel with salmon and asparagus, pancake with cavier, rare roast beef and brie, and I've forgotten the last.
Our next course were two large plates of scones, lemon flavored madelines, chocolate truffles and coconut balls. The girls especially love the madelines and truffles.
The third course was a dessert plate. Each girl received a raspberry creme in a dark chocolate cup, a fruit tart, a creme puff, a chocolate lava cake and a smore. All were delicious.
The final course was a plate of 5 giant strawberries with both raw and powdered sugar for dipping. We also received a beautiful glass of sparkling cider to accompany the fruit course. The girls enjoyed a big Merry Christmas toast.
The part of our tea that the girls liked the best seemed to be that everytime they thanked the waiter he would say, "It's my pleasure." They really got a kick out of that.

Caviar? I've never even had caviar. Maybe I should have been a girl scout.
Glad she had a beautiful, elegant and joyous time. Give her a big hug for me. I miss that beautiful co-ham of mine!
