Brotherly Love

Today Matthew had his 18 month doctors appointment. He got a clean bill of health, other than being a "milkaholic." This diagnosis is due to the fact that he only eats a meal about once every 2-3 days. He'll regularly drink his bottles and snack, but when a meal comes to the table he prefers to chew and spit it out or just throw the food across the table. We're working on changing these behaviors, but it's taking some time.

Here are his stats from his exam:

Height: 34.5 in. 95%
Weight: 30 lbs. 95%
Head circumference: 50 cm. 95%

On another note, while heading to the office James became suddenly concerned with Matthew having to get a shot. James does not like shots. As we walked back and passed the nurses station he asked his favorite nurse if Matt would have to get a shot. She said, "Yes." Then another nurse came in the room and he asked again. She said, "Yes." Finally the doctor came in and James gave it a third try. The answer was still yes.

When the exam was over and the nurse came back in to give the shots James decided he knew what he could do to help.

He got up on the exam table and put his arms around his brother. He held on tightly to Matt's little hand. When the shot was finished and Matt was crying James just snuggled his little brother up and gave him a BIG hug.

What a good big brother!
